I've noticed that the 'What's New' page of the website, which is the one I always go to, takes an awfully long time to load nowadays with all the great updates and links to videos. Why don't you just use the Stop 'X' on your web browser, davec? Just let the most recent items load then stop the rest, works every time for me.  |

I normally notice straight away if there's something new and click on it immediately or move on to the next site if there's nothing, so it doesn't really affect me personally. If the something new starts loading in a new window or tab I notice the 'What's New' page is still loading many minutes later, and that's with broadband. I just wouldn't want someone with a slow connection or short attention span getting put off exploring Dave's site - after all it's now taken over as the most up to date and complete Anna site on the net - thanks in a small way to the material you and I have sent in. With the success of PD in the States and hopefully here next year I reckon Dave can look forward to more and more hits on his website and maybe more regular contributors to this forum - that would be fun and good reward for all Dave's efforts over the years. I don't know how Dave accesses his website to make updates and whether or not he realises how big the 'What's New' page has become, so I thought I'd mention it and see if anyone else thinks it's an issue or not, and let Dave decide what he wants to do - maybe nothing, but that's OK! |

Thanks guys for the feedback on this - I try to regularly keep it quite low in size - it is only about 120KB , but I try and keep it closer to the 100KB size (or below) - there are obviously a lot of pics on there which take time in terms of the rest of the thumbnails to load... I'll try and limit it so only the last month or 2's thumbnails are shown .... as I take them off the "Whats New" page, I usually add them to their own subject pages (except if they are screengrabs and they will be on their own page already)... Certainly you both have helped bring the site up to "completist" status with info and grabs from shows I didnt have, or had very bad copies...and my gratitude goes to ya both for providing those... rest assured there are still things still to go on (still have folders on my external drive with masses of pics on - totally rare and unique )... and there are certainly a few extras to add to Anna's Official site.... |

Dave the site is ACE Anna should be proud of what you have done.
Same of the other sites should look at the way you have put this site together & see what can be done if a little be of hard work is put in.

Thanks for the continued feedback guys - glad that everyone likes it and is kept updated. (it is hard work at times keeping it going and finding new sources and info - thanks to all those who continue to help out with design and information and pics !!)
I know Anna really likes the site too and I'm hoping to keep improving it and get more interaction etc. ;D

It's great that more fans are now starting to contribute regularly to the Forum - it brings a welcome diversity of views and opinions Dave - can't you persuade Anna to join the Forum and give us the occasional benefit of her opinion? Or does she do so using a subtle nom de plume? |

Good job Well not quite everyday... but I try and make at least 10 -15 minutes for the site.... although on drunken sojourns round the wildlife that is my town centre, I don't get chance then !! Still have loads to sort through as well - hundreds of pics on my ext hard drive - plus a pile of cuttings and magazines sitting forlornly whimpering in the corner begging to be scanned !!! |
