As I promised Dave, been keeping an eye on any Pushing Daisies related promotions & events occurring in the US.
They had a special screening of the first episode of the second season on September 10, 2008 at the Paley Center for Television in Beverly Hills. According to the event itinerary, there would be a panel discussion, Q&A, & cast members would be in attendance.
I thought of bringing a large bouquet of flowers, a few days before the event I originally planned to give them to Anna but changed my mind to getting a larger set to split it up amongst the cast/crew of Pushing Daisies that were at the event & not just Anna . In attendance were Bryan Fuller (the creator!) & Swoosie Kurtz, Anna was not present.
Swoosie & cast members from other ABC shows discussed a bit about the series they were involved in & answered questions from fans. She discussed filming for this season, a lot about her character & discussed very briefly a few spoilers for the upcoming episodes - very very exciting!!!
Immeadiately afterwards, they showed the first episode for the second season. It was beyond amazing, I absolutely loved it! I don't want to give too much away...but the opening scene is CLASSIC & hilarious!! Anna was fantastic, her character's role is very large in this episode & she appears in it very often. Like I said...don't want to give too much away! If you absolutely want to hear more, please feel free to PM me, I don't want to accidently spoil anything from the first episode for anyone who wants to wait & see what happens when the series premieres!
Some pics below...
After the screening we walked out to the lobby & Bryan Fuller was chatting with fans. Sam & I were very nervous to say anything...but finally got the courage to walk up to him. I gave him the bouquet & told him 'Congratulations'! He went ballistic he was so happy! I told him the flowers were a gift for him & the cast members & told him we weren't sure who was going to be here tonight, so we went safe & brought a bigger bouquet.
He thanked us both over & over again & spent some time with us! He asked us what we thought of the first episode of the second season & asked if we liked it, we told him we enjoyed it very much & were looking forward to it like crazy! We also talked with him about his other works Dead Like Me & Wonderfalls since Sam & I are big fans of those two series as well.
Bryan gave us hugs & during my hug with him I told him he was a genius, because well, he is! He thanked me again & asked for both of our names & said he would share the flowers with Swoosie & the cast.
After I gave Bryan the bouquet;
Sam & I were ecstatic afterwards. This was the second time I've spoken to Bryan, the first was at the Hollywood premiere in 2007. I have a lot more photos that I'll upload soon, I took some of the photos as well as Sam & my two guy friends, David & David, who are photography students at the University I attend.
Had an excellent time! You all have A LOT to look forward to!!! The first episode is amazing, I promise you won't be disappointed!
