Just watched it. First of all I have to agree with the guy from "The Times": The Street was so good last night that it almost made you forget that Liverpool simply does not produce prostitutes who look like Anna Friel.
That's true and it reminded me of Michelle Pfeiffer playing a waitress in Frankie and Johnny. It's just not possible to imagine Michelle as a blue collar woman or Anna as a cheap hooker.
Other than that, it was absolutelly brilliant. That was always meant to be her path. What a joy to see Anna being challenged as an actress and putting all her dramatic strength to good use. Just wonderful.

Sorry guys - forgot to add this on the other day (been running about past few days) as I had a mail from Desi to say he was attending the Awards and was crossing his fingers for Anna... Looks like the girl done good !! And Mum and Dad accepted the award for Anna !!  |

Yep Anna did good next one a BAFTA then the next one an Oscar I would love to put a bet on that Anna gets one within the next 5 yrs.  |

Well I think nothing short of a BAFTA for Anna's performance in The Street would be just....
I think for the Oscar, the right role and promotion has to come along.... let's hope it does as we all know she is fully capable of producing a performance to match the best of Hollywood...

Awwww Desi and Jules! Dave, thanks so much for posting the photo, its great! Both parents of course look very proud of their Anna. Anna will win an Oscar someday I have no doubt. |
