Anna Friel unveils the future of cinema
Actress Anna Friel dazzled during the opening of Vue Westfield. The British star said she was “delighted” to be asked to launch Europe’s largest all-digital cinema which will offer cinema-goers a greater choice of movies in flawless picture and sound quality.
Vue Westfield is being hailed as the ‘cinema of the future’ and will open its doors to the public on Friday 12th February. Stunning Anna, who can be seen starring in London Boulevard alongside Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell, and Woody Allen’s next film with Naomi Watts and Antonio Banderas, says:
“It is such an honour to be asked to launch Vue Westfield. As a Brit, I'm so excited that London is leading Europe with its largest all digital cinema and I'm delighted to be opening its doors in our great city. The viewing opportunities made available with digital, 3D images are unprecedented and I just want to encourage more and more people to enjoy great films with this enhanced cinema experience.
“The digital revolution is ushering an exciting time in cinema and creating new opportunities for talented independent film makers, which will offer cinema-goers a greater choice of movies. It’s a privilege to join Vue Entertainment in opening the doors of this cinema.”
The multimillion pound Vue cinema has 14 floor to ceiling, wall to wall screens, five of which are 3D enabled and has planned to screen an unprecedented 38 films in its opening week alone. Other initiatives set to entice cinema-goers include premium luxury auditoriums called Scene and VueXtreme screens, offering customers a ‘super-sized’ sound and vision experience on two large-format screens, each the size of nearly four double decker buses.
