If anyone wishes to trade for Anna TV footage, I have lots of TV footage (all what you see screengrabs on the site I have !), and lots of rare magazines and promo DVDs etc.
Also lots of photos and pictures, magazine clippings, books and other rare items...
Looking for: You Drive Me, Emmerdale, Punt & Dennis, early Brookside interviews on TV, anything not shown on the site....

Have dug out my earliest videos and begun trawling through them. Have turned up only three 'Brookside period' pieces: A four minute feature and interview from the dreadful C4 Sunday lunchtime show 'Surf Potatoes' dating from May 1994. ( She is interviewed by no less than Max Beasley, who is wearing a typical shocker of a mid-ninties shell-suit. She is wearing the same clothes that she is wearing in the photo that illustrates the NME piece written by Barbara Ellen, which was always one of my favourite pieces on Anna.) Two segments from GMTV which were broadcast on the day the Jordache trial verdict was screened on C4. Features short interviews with Anna and Sandra Maitland on the Brookside set. All the 'Live and Kicking' stuff from her appearance on the show in April 1995.
Have also turned up plenty of immediately post-Brookside stuff, including her appearance on the legendarily awful 'Pyjama Party', the Ed Ball videos and a very brief piece of her going into the 'Loaded' party with Mark Lamarr from some ITV Saturday morning show called 'It's Not Just Saturday'. (No, I don't remember it either. It was co-hosted by Gazz Top, who worryingly used to remind me of a friend of mine. Anna and Lamarr must have gone on to this party after filming 'Shooting Stars'.)
Can't help you with the 'Punt and Dennis', (that was so bad I taped over it almost immediately), or 'Emmerdale' ( have never even seen any footage of her as Poppy Bruce),but if you have any requests you haven't listed above, you never know, they may be on these tapes somewhere.

Some nice bits there Joe - wanna set up a trade ? If you can copy to tape or DVD, I'm happy to take either (as I can always convert to DVD myself).
I have - all on DVD - basically anything you see on the site, Holiday Prog, Shakespeare's Shorts, Making A Pass, Interviews, Films etc etc.
;D

There is no need for a trade. I will willingly send you the tapes so you can post stuff that may be of interest to others on the site. This is all good therapy for me. Would be interested to know of existence of pictures of Anna from various events, such as Cannes 1997 and Knebworth 1996, other than those I already have. For instance, I have a small picture of Anna with Lena Headey on that boat the BFI hired at Cannes 1997, and would love to know of the existence of others.

Nice 1 Joe - let me know when you're ready to post and need my address and I'll send ya a PM with it... Thinking of a members video forum with lots of stuff in it anyway (I have tons of space to host it on) - something special may happen on the new site too ...

Will hang fire for a few days. You may find out why in due course. Sorry I can't do the technical stuff myself, don't have the equipment for it. (Same old story...) The tapes are not the best quality, but they still play surprisingly well on my less-than-top-notch machine.

OK Joe - thats a bit enigmatic !!! No problem with not being able to do the tech bit - I have quite a lot of equipment and software to convert ... , and if needed have access to a studio set-up to remaster... ;D

Joe's message has inspired me to look out my old VHS Anna 'odds and sods' tape as well. I have nothing of the vintage of Joe's gems and just about all of my stuff is fully covered by vidcaps on your site so I guess you have it already. However, I have a couple of oddities to offer: Anna on stage in Ireland - see www.annafriel.org/images/mag1/dublin1.jpgfor the event. It was a live broadcast on Tara TV and young Anna had obviously emptied a few of those glasses she's holding before she got on stage as she got told off twice for using a very naughty word - you may need a bleeper Then she sang a little song. Only 4 minutes of footage but I've never seen it elsewhere and it's quite fun Secondly, I have a VHS video of the 'Medics' episode featuring a very young Anna lying in a hospital bed looking very yellow. Her character has jaundice I've not seen any vidcaps from that anywhere either. Anyway, if you're interested I'm very happy to send the tapes to you to do with as you will All I'd like in return is a DVD copy of them when you post the tapes back to me, please - for my own personal viewing pleasure! - and to see the caps on the site for others to enjoy ;D Just drop me a PM if you want it Dave

davec / joe - received the tapes and have set about copying all the bits and pieces off them onto digital format.. As you see, some of the screengrabs added already from the TARA Fashion show thingy.... yes Anna is perhaps a tad tipsy thanks so much for the tapes - excellent to keep adding to the site and creating as full a biography as possible... also joe thanks for the magazine cuttings ;D

Yeah, well done Dave, the Tara vipcaps look pretty good - much better than I could have done! It would be good to have access to the clip on the forum so everyone could see a bit of Anna enjoying being herself, which is really good It makes a nice change from the normal carefully rehearsed and spun interviews we always seem to get nowadays. Glad everything arrived safely. Looking forward to seeing what you do with my rough and ready material. I have one more tape left which I haven't got round to checking out yet. It is badly labelled and I can't for the life of me remember what's on it. It may be a gold mine, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

As I suspected the tape did not exactly prove a rich seam of material. In fact the only piece of any rarity value or real interest (debatable) is a two minute section of the Ed Ball 'Trailblaze' video. Tip me the wink if you are interested and I will send it on. Watching the Ed Ball vid reminds me of the rumour that Creation Records boss Alan McGee offered Anna a recording deal back in the Nineties. That would have been interesting.

Re: 'Passengers' screengrabs. For those who don't remember this show (and why would you), it was typical of C4's yooff output of the period and was screened on Friday nights. The edition featuring Anna was screened somewhen in the late summer or autumn of 1995. She is shown driving a white Mercedes at the start of the piece. I think this car belonged to 'The Heel'. From memory believe Anna had a Honda at this time, so she probably borrowed the Merc for a bit of swank-factor.
