Just a heads-up that David's in the UK edition of Vogue Magazine (September edition). Not sure if anyone out there would be kind enough to scan it though for those who don't have access to it.

Have had a quick browse through the Vogue DT piece. It is just a two page interview feature (with one photo of the old boy) to plug his first novel. Bit of stuff about his interest in the art world (in which the novel is set), some chat about the business of writing and a few mentions of Gracie. Not much to the piece to be honest, so unless you are his 'Number 1 Fan' I wouldn't worry too much about not having access to it. I know he doesn't give many interviews but you won't find out anything very startling from this one. (Put it this way, if it was about Anna I wouldn't shell out the cover price for the magazine.)
(Oh, and he says the acting world is full of 'w****rs'. Really, David?)

Thanks for the recap Joe glad I'm not missing too much. At least he's being honest regarding the world of acting

Hi, Amanda! I'm sure you can buy the UK edition even in California (it's available in Hungary too - but I'm sorry, can't scan it now) I've found the interview really interesting and just love David's outspoken and witty comments

Helia - THANK YOU! I'll look for it tonight or tomorrow, I'm very sure that my old workplace has the magazine in stock (I really hope so!) Can't wait to read the interview, David's comments are always surprising

Just had to say great icon and awesome recap - someone on a regular livejournal said they had seen David there with Gracie. But your recap definitely rocked.

Reading the interview would be half as interesting after you've just met them personally. I've read your post about the event and I'm really happy for you! And... well... a bit jelaous

The cover of DT's book , 'The Late Hector Kipling', seems to be a painting by Stuart Pearson Wright, same bloke who did the pierrot portrait of Anna for 'Lulu'. The reviews of the book I've encountered so far are a little mixed, to say the least. (For those who wish to emulate Amanda and meet DT, he is giving readings from his book at Waterstones, Piccadilly, on 4th September, 7.00pm til 8.30pm. Tickets £3.00, from this branch. Don't know if he will be doing any signings.)

Thank You, ten days later and I've still had the same smile on my face! ;D
Congrats to anyone who can attend David's reading in London! He's an enormous sweetheart - and he was very generous and kind when I met him in person. Definately everything I imagined him to be - I would love all of David's fans to have the experience I did when meeting him.

DT was interviewed today on the Simon Mayo show on BBC Radio5Live, to plug his new book. If you missed it, expect you will be able to catch it somewhere on the BBC website. He appeared from about 2.05pm BST. A few good stories to be heard, if you can cope with the smugness of Mayo, Mr Smugness himself. (Anna was not once mentioned by name.)
