Well that was quite a strange Oscars... not 1 US actor received an Award...both main and supporting Actors/Actresses were from Europe. ..pretty obvious DDL would get Actor but great to see Marion get Actress.. she is superb in La Vie En Rose... love that film... I'm not that big a fan of Tilda, but anything to stop Cate Blanchett !!  and as big a fan as I am of Juno.... Best Screenplay  ahem.... less said the better... |

Anna definately deserves an oscar, it would be great if she did win one in the near future ^_^

I'm hoping "Bathory" can do what "Pan's Labyrinth" did last year at the very least !! Oscar noms could come for Anna in "Actress" category but considering the country of origin, is not very likely (that's not an insult - just unlikely that Hollywood would nominate in that way). The most likely nomination would come in Best Foreign Language film perhaps.... |

Doesn't that make it ineligible for Best Foreign Film? And as for its chances in the main Best Film category; even if it were a meisterwerk, Hollywood doesn't give Oscar nods to films from central/eastern/centraleastern/easterncentral/non-easterncentral/non-centraleastern (OK, so I like to stretch a 'joke'  ) Europe. |
