There are a few posts on this topic - you have to search back a while (the search function only searches the last 7 days unless you ask it specifically to go back further). I'm afraid joe17 and I were rather critical of this effort. It was no fault of Anna's - she looked great, spoke with a very strange accent and acted a rather undemanding role fairly competently - much like a lot of her work ;D There are some good actors in the movie - DT for one - but it is just awful  The plot makes no sense; a dire mixture of inaccurate history, flawed sci-fi and unintelligible narrative  ........oh, and to put the tin hat on it they cast Paul Walker as the leading man, a guy who couldn't act his way out of a paper bag  The only believable part of the movie was when Gerard Butler's character decided to stay behind to marry Anna and let her bear his children - I think I'd have done the same  Anyway, don't take me too seriously... if you enjoyed the movie, good luck to you, but I'd rather watch Bathory, if only I was given the choice....one day, please |

I think that I should say: Timeline I like, but Bathory is my obsession (in the good sense)  |

'Timeline' is just so typical of hack directors like Donner. More than anything it is just so bad to look at. Where did all that money go? Certainly not on a quality set designer or a decent cinematographer. |

Well I'm quite a kind guy, and if Parker likes it, well that's fine by me......but you're right, what a waste of time, effort and money. Still, working with Billy Connolly must've been fun |

This was the movie that started it all for me! I just loved how independent her character was. plus, i loved loved loved the costumes!!!!! i went as Clair for Halloween that year. my mom's friend made the costume for me!!!

Watched Timeline, finally. You guys know I'm not the one to praise Anna for garbage like "Everlasting Piece", "Irish Jam", "Goal" or any other dumbass movie she's made for whatever reason. And that's why it's probably gonna shock you to know that I didn't find "Timeline" to be all THAT bad.
Yes, Paul Walker is ridiculous, pathetic and his lack of talent borders on the criminal. Frances O'Connor is about as exciting as a door knob. Gerard Butler's accent and bad diction makes it hard to understand a word he says. Moreover, the screenplay is far from ideal and the movie was re-edited twice, butchering Michael Crichton's wonderful insights. Nevertheless, I think it's gotten a worse rep than it deserved. Anna's accent is ok, she has just a few lines and she delivers them gracefully. Maybe with a higher pitched voice than necessary, but ok.
I don't know... I think Timeline is far from great and certainly one of Donner's least inspired movies, but still much better than most of what Anna did in the early 2000s.
