According to kittyradio.com/soapbox/jukebox/30153-london-live-earth-line-up-revealed.htmlyou should get to see the lovely lady at Wembley on Saturday. She's supposedly down to introduce a film (presumably a documentary on global warming) after Genesis do the first set of the day. I hope you've set your DVD recorder! Incidentally, Chris Moyles is introducing Genesis - didn't he have a pop about Anna some years ago - and Gerard 'Timeline' Butler is also introducing a film. They seemed to get on especially well off screen Small world. Have fun ;D

Anyone else feeling very queasy about Anna getting involved in this? Sure the newspapers have had a field-day with their 'eco-hypocrites' routine, but that wouldn't quite be my angle. Anything involving Razorlight immediately sets my alarm bells ringing, and the whole vibe of 'LiveAid style' shows doesn't agree with me. Didn't watch any of Live Earth. Would've had to sit through Phil Collins and his crew to see Anna's vid, and life is way too short. (Apparently a couple of the acts were OK. Though heaven knows what the Foo Fighters were doing there.) Overall it just seemed funny for Anna to be involved. She surely isn't high profile/ A-list enough to have made any impact with the audience. I know she likes to get involved in 'causes', but please, not this one.
Re Chris Moyles. Yeah, he was involved in the whole Jamie Theakston rumour stuff, which large sections of the then Radio1 mob found oh-so-amusing.

I've no problem with Anna being involved with this cause at all - I just wish more people would back some of the ideas behind it all rather than some of the hyper-critical media coming up with the "jet-fuelled" nonsense about transporting people round the globe to play at concerts (if only they'd research.... ) Anna's topic of cycle power sits very well with me - as a committed cyclist for the past 20+ years, it being my favourite sports past-time (just above football) and also getting to speak to some of the people behind bringing the TDF to London over this past weekend (and watching some of it too), it was remarkable to see that Anna was promoting pedal power... I know there are many other organisations who fight for environmental causes, but no one has a monopoly of the idea... and if "Live Aid", "Live 8" etc generated so much discussion on their own topics - why would this one not generate some further positive discussion - no one thinks a concert on it own will stop the problems - they took place to keep the message going, to aid in promoting the ideas . (Bob Geldof only criticised this because he never thought of it and wasnt heralded as messianic because of it....) although I agree about Razorlight joe... LOL

Fair points Dave. (Spot on with Geldof.) Never had Anna down as a pedalist. (Doesn't she own about ten cars?) Used to be a pretty big cycling buff myself, though nowadays my old boy puts me well to shame as far as mileage is concerned. Am a bit disillusioned with TDF, the Pantani affair finished me. Back to Live Earth, guess it is really just the stadium aspects that bother me. I'm definitely a sweaty-back-room-of-a-pub-with-twenty-people-in-the-crowd type of guy. All of the best gigs I've ever been to had a crowd of less than a thousand. I'm always wary of the really popular, have always been a cultural Menshevik. Fear The Crowd!
