"Pushing Daisies" is nominated in the "Television Series, Comedy or Musical" category, and Lee Pace is nominated for "Actor In A Series, Comedy or Musical"....

The Awards ceremony takes place on 16 December in Century City... fingers crossed that night !!

Being totallying non-au fait with the US scene, I don't really know how big a deal these awards are. Are they a sort of American equivalent of our own 'TV Quick Awards' or something to be taken seriously?

Obviously I dont think they are up there with the Emmys or Golden Globes... but looking at the range of categories and some of those nominated - and being pretty fairly widely reported across most of the industry websites - I think they have some prestige..

Looks like they are start of the "Awards Season" ...

I'm not Amanda, but basically the Satellite Awards are an arm off the Golden Globes.

They're known as the rebel members of the Hollywood Foreign Press who look over the GGs. One thing they do like are dramedies, in the past they feature well with nominations.

So the general consensus that usually goes around is, a lot of people wish that the Satellite nominees would sometimes flow through to the Globes, SAGs and Emmys, but sometimes they don't.

Whether Anna receives the award or not, she's done an incredible job with her role on Pushing Daisies and I'm very happy she's being nominated for an award! Congratulations to Anna!
