Now in other threads we've discussed the myspace darling of the music biz that is Lily Allen, and also mentioned Amy BeerCellar.. oops Winehouse..
..... but have been listening to Amy MacDonald's album for a few weeks now.. and it's a remarkable album for someone so young... reminds me so much of Natalie Merchant and 10,000 Maniacs....

If you havent heard her yet, check out her myspace to listen to a few tracks... she's supporting Paul Weller on his German tour too !!

Amy M, not really my bag. Will agree that she does sound years older than she really is, for good or bad.

Natalie Merchant? As with other great Eighties voices like Elizabeth Fraser or Tracey Thorn she was/is hampered by a lack of decent material. (Yeah, they've all done good stuff, but also too much guff.)
Paul Weller? OMG, are you telling me he's still alive?
