Nice work, Dave! That 'L and K' appearance seems like light years ago. Bet it feels like another lifetime to Anna. (Think the show was the foundation of the rumours that Ronan Keating had a thing for her. Course, she was still ensconced with 'The Heel' at the time.)

Cheers joe.... ;D I bet Anna barely remembers some of the stuff that went on in the show with it being over 12 years ago.... I love watching her face on shows which show her pics of her early appearances - think the "Pyjama" show did it (scans still to be posted) and also GMTV did it to her by showing a pic from Emmerdale... horrified is an understatement !!! LOL

Just caught up with the screengrabs of Live and Kicking - great stuff. Thanks Dave and joe17.
I don't know whether Anna remembers much about those early shows - she was just a kid! I can't even remember if I saw that show with Anna in it, but the shots of Emma Forbes bring back very fond memories of Saturday mornings. Emma and Anna on the same couch, no wonder Ronan Keating's goofy grin has never left his face after all these years ;D

Remember being very queasy watching Anna on 'L and K'. She seemed very, very self-conscious, a very young eighteen (in some ways, though not others) and not remotely 'hip'. Yes, she has got a lot hipper over the years, but this show shattered a lot of illusions I had about her. (We're back to that thorny old chestnut of fan projection here.)

At least these 'L and K' pictures don't bring me out in a cold sweat! What are you thinking of, Dave, putting up screengrabs of 'The Tribe' and then 'Fields of Gold'. Are you trying to drive people to madness? The leering features of Phil Davis in many of those 'F of G' pictures, aaaaaargh!! It is the stuff of nightmares. Surely some things are best left forgotten. Don't know about anyone else, but I will not be downloading any of the 'F of G' pics. That 'piece' was truly the nadir of Anna's career thus far. There are a few things to choose from I'll admit, but forget stuff like 'Mad Cows', at least she did a decent Aussie accent in that, even if the film was garbage. There is nothing positive about 'F of G', absolutely nothing. Leave it festering in the darkness. Please.

Yup 'Fields of Gold' was pretty awful and best forgotten, but it's always nice to see Dave's screengrabs of Anna, whatever she's doing. I'm off to the States tomorrow for a holiday - to the East Coast so no chance of bumping into Ms Friel unfortunately and a bit early to catch the season of 'Pushing Daisies'. Anyway, I'll try and put aside my own prejudices and gauge the enthusiasm amongst real people for 'Pushing Daisies' and Anna herself - if there really is any! Still, there's not long to wait now for the world premiere of 'Bathory' - aren't we all excited about that ;D followed hopefully by a very early DVD release so we can all see it before it suffers the same fate as so many of Anna's films and disappears without trace I'll tune in again in a couple of weeks to see all the new stuff on this forum and Dave's website, and of course the fantastic new 'Official Anna Friel Website' - wonderful times indeed

Re 'Surf Potatoes' screengrabs.......Thanks, Dave, nice work. They do take me back and in a good way. Funny how some nostalgic feelings are less painful than others.

No problem - thanks for the footage in the first place !! Saved some of "The Word" screengrabs to add to a seperate Word page. Also sorting out the remainder of "The Jury" screengrabs...
