Know it is a jest, but you are missing the point, Dave. As I've said several times before I don't really find A all that physically attractive, the last thing I want to see is a 'lingerie shoot'. Just agree completely with davec that these pics are projecting the wrong image of A. Know the U.S. can be quite a conservative place in many ways but these pics are just bland. That dress is beige. Beige!!! That fringe!!! And A looks old, about 45 to my eyes.

That dress is beige. Beige!!! That fringe!!! And A looks old, about 45 to my eyes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Or rather No! No! No! (as Amy Winehouse might say) While a sexy new lingerie shoot is always welcome on my computer, I must agree with joe on this one, Dave, that this is hardly the point here. What joe has written above is exactly the point of our criticism of this shoot. It makes our girl look ....... dare I say it....... almost middle-aged. She's supposed to be a 'bright, young star' of the new season in a quirky, funny, energetic, romantic fantasy show. This shoot makes it look like she's going to appear as a maiden aunt in a revival of 'The Forsyte Saga.' What do our US based members think? Any views, Amanda? P.S. Yes, Dave I do agree that pic 27 is the best of the bunch - because it's a close-up face shot so you can't see the awful dress!

Jesting aside - i do know what you guys are saying, it's just I don't think its that bad a photoshoot considering what the actual market it's aimed at is ... middle America is rather conservative (understatement of the year) and it seems as though the shoot was carried out by and for the use of a TV magazine. .... so as an introduction to a whimsical-style show which does contain some 50s/60s stylisation within it, it makes sense to go for the publicity surrounding that style of dress "as per character..."
I agree in terms of clothing and overall look , its not my favourite of Anna's ever... but i get the feeling it's meant to tie in with the show... rather than be a fashion shoot or anything approaching sexy... I guess there is a "tone" or style to the shoot and that's what was requested....
The top half of the dress is actually fine - I think from the waist to the skirt it seems "old-fashioned"... having said that I wouldn't class myself a an expert of current female fashion trends... I'll leave that to "Tranny and Sue-sauna".... ;D

If you study the dress she was wearing at the L.A. ABC press call it looks like the 'Jane Seymour' dress to me, suggesting that the photo shoot was done on the same day in the garden of the L.A. Hilton or some such. Maybe these are the only off-set promo pics that ABC has bothered to release of A, in which case I suggest she goes out and gets some more done and quickly. (I very much doubt they were done by one particular TV magazine.) Can't believe you 'don't think its that bad a photoshoot', Dave. I cringed when I saw those pics and can't imagine who they are aimed at.

Yes it definitely is the same dress (and same earrings), but the hair is different and the make-up is different . It is either ABC's shoot (I do find this unlikely) or on the day, various attendees were given access to carry out individual interviews or quick sessions "on the hoof" - hence no change of clothes and slight changes to hairstyle and much lighter make-up .. Again, its all about what the exact market is - if its for a very family orientated magazine (very conservative), they would have liked the dress. Or it could be just that's what was available - ie what Anna was wearing... (after all she does like the vintage look...) My full quote would have been..."I don't think its that bad a photoshoot .....considering what the actual market it's aimed at is ".... Looks like I'm gonna have to try and get an answer... to why !! lol !!

I personally love this photoshoot ;D Not sure about the color of the dress, but Anna looks extremely beautiful as always and very happy. I was expecting to see something bright and crazy for "Pushing Daisies" but I love the photoshoot nonetheless!
Well...ABC is in association with Disney, and of course Disney goes family-friendly with everything here in the States.

Think we are going to have to agree to disagree, or else go into full schism mode, with davec and me as leading anti-Seymourist heretics. Maybe it is all over a beige dress but wars have been started over less!
