Hi everybody! I am new here and i have some nice news! I am from Slovakia(not Slovenia!!!) and i was on Bathory today! It is really interesting and lovely movie... and i think, that Anna was so amazing as Bathory! really perfect! If you have some informations about movie, just write your questions to me  |

Boy, am I jealous  The reviews have been pretty favourable and I'm sure there's a good film somewhere in amongst that 140 minutes of footage. Let the world see this film (well, alright, let ME see this film.....please ) Let's start a Downing Street petition.... oh, perhaps not, they've all just gone on their summer hols . Can't you put some pressure on Anna's contacts to push things along, Dave? You're a man of considerable influence, yes?  ? |

what do you think about the long speech of Monk Petr just in the beginning of the movie? maybe 15min long? It was a quite disturbing for me... I understand need to explain things but anyway Jakubisco could use a different way of explanation. I did not know Anna Friel before Bathory, but she just amazed me as Erzsébet Bathory. Will check the rest of her movies.

For example with Easy Jet it cost almost nothing. I guess a flight is 90min long and cinema ticket cost max. 10USD. Just one day trip? If you want to come, I can help you with that davec....There should be also version with EN subtitles i hope |

In Slovakia, we havent got english version with subtitles... thats a pity, cause i want to hear slovak and czech actors talking in english it must be very funny oh, my english is scary... |

Hope you enjoy davec !!! ;D ;D ;D Yes, I sure did, Dave. Thanks very much! Nice to hear Anna's natural voice, and those familiar naughty words - I'm surprised they didn't dub them out! I wonder how many takes it took to get that sabre fight scene right. Anyway, as you know, my interest in this film was already well-piqued, but the more I see of it, the more I want to see ;D I looked up flights to Prague from my local airport but unfortunately you can't do a day trip (and prices are high being the school holidays ) and it's difficult to fit in a whole weekend away at the mo. Still, I'm fairly confident we'll see the movie on DVD sooner rather than later, and maybe a limited UK screen release if I'm really lucky. I feel guilty because I've never actually seen any of Anna's films on the big screen, so I'd be able to rectify this with 'Bathory'. Maybe one of our Eastern European friends can let us know how it's doing in the local cinema 'Top Ten' |

Not sure how in East Europe :-) but in Central Europe in Czech Republic exactly, it is Nr.1 for 2008. Also not sure how quickly you will be able to get it as a DVD format. Mme Jakubisko cruise around Europe and maybe world with Bathory just now...
